My Weekend

On Friday, I went with my friend to an unusual place that I wouldn't normally go to. My friend Ephraim asked if I wanted to go to his youth, I said yes. Now I wanted to go because youth was new to me although I was catholic Ephraim was Christian I still went. I also went cause one of my favorite sports was one of their games they would play, I'm talking about basketball. Ephraim - Ephraim is my teammate and my rugby "College Rifles" he's also a good mate of mine. I first met him at my first Rugby Club "Varsity"  Along with Kurtas, TJ and Ajani.

I finally arrived after a boring drive, I didn't see Ephraim around so I waited  around with my mum as she was texting Jonathan which was Ephraim's Dad. After a few minutes of waiting around Ephraim finally arrived. Ephraim and me was just hanging outside talking about what it would be like inside, when I had the confidence to go inside I told Ephraim to come with me cause I was shy.

We just got into the courts and I met up with the Youth Leader his name was Jack, Jack introduced me to some of the other Youth Leaders and I even got to meet the younger brother of David Fusitua or well that's what Ephraim told me. I also got to 1v1 Ephraim in a basketball match.

As Minutes passed finally Jack called us in for the starting prayer for the day. After that we got into groups I was in group "Mean Machine" while the other group was called "Top Guns" Ephraim was
also in my team. The first game we played was called "Travelous?" Or something like that I couldn't remember it. It was a game where we have to listen to a song and guess what was it called. As round 1 started the DJ played a song and it was crazy I couldn't even hear myself everyone was trying to figure it out.

An Hour passed, and my group wanted to play another game, this game we were playing was Soccer but not ordinary soccer we played with a big soccer ball, we also had to start with three people ringed up.... it's hard to explain but we had to bind up with our arms and from their on we had to try to kick e the ball into the goal, if your group unbinds you're team would be disqualified. After that me and Ephraim took a break.

The last thing we did was called Praise and Worship I didn't know what it mean't because I wasn't christian. It was where we would sing songs, and praising god. After that Jack introduced the new people to the Revelation it was me and this other dude. Finally the last part we did was talk about how we can increase our faith in god and change the world. Their was 4 people who did incredible speeches that affected me to now on try to change the world with kidness.

After everything was done we played a game of Basketball and I again 1v1ed Ephraim.

That was all the fun things I did in youth it was a really fun experience and I hope I could come back, although I can't because I have rugby. We are going to Tauraunga/Rotorua. This also helped me learn more about god.

Thanks for Reading,

Benefits of physical activity

The Benefits of Physical Activity

Have you ever wandered the benefits of physical activity, or why it’s good to go for a run daily? Maybe you want a good health, or maybe you just want to look better, or maybe you don’t want to run or get your heart pumping. Firstly, you might think running is a waste of time but have you really thought about it? Well stay tuned in cause i’ll give you a few tips and why we really need to exercise.

Firstly, exercise improves mood and sleep, for example say you have a game today you might feel exhausted. Think back to what you did the day before. If you are like me you either played Fortnite till 2 in the morning, or you just couldn’t sleep cause you still got a lot of energy. Have you ever heard of the term “The little things matter?” those little things such as going to bed on time, eating the right food and staying away from your PS4. You may be thinking why should I listen to this guy…. Well you should listen because I was that guy who always played till midnight, sure I pushed myself not to but then when I started to sleep on time, I could feel my body is ready, and I have a lot of oxygen. Fun fact is it can also reduce stress and anxiety. Problems in these areas frequently cause or contribute to cognitive impairment.

Secondly being physically active reduces your odds of developing heart disease. The benefits of physical exercise, especially aerobic exercise, have positive effects on brain function on multiple fronts, ranging from the molecular to behavioral level.

Lastly, exercise affects the brain on multiple fronts. It increases heart rate, which pumps more oxygen to the brain. It also aids the bodily release of a plethora of hormones, all of which participate in aiding and providing a nourishing environment for the growth of brain cells.

Well there it is a few tips and answers to your questions, but If you don’t like doing the dirty work such as running and weightlifting doing household chores can count as well, such as raking the leaves, taking out the rubbish or anything else that will get your heart pumping.

Thank you guys for reading goodbye!

Camp Recount

The time came again…… the time were we go through adventurous and unusual activities and to step out of our comfort zone we are talking about the year 8 camp. This happens every year on May the 24th. It was an camp when we step out of our comfort zone and act like a true leader this includes Mihis,Thank you’s and Karaikias even if you weren't a team leader. I reckon I stepped out of my comfort zone.

I was so nervous when I got to camp I couldn’t really tell why, my group was called Thames which was the name of the place but that’s not why you guys are here to read so i’ll skip to my nerve-wrecking activity.

Kookakodadoo the chicken screeched across the field as me and my friends got up and did our Monday routine. “Our activity today was Go-Karts” said Prince* I felt agitated. As we walked on the rocky pathway I could hear the roar of the Go-Kart I thought in my mind “Uhhh Ohhh”-

As I entered the field it looked like a bedroom that hasn’t been cleaned in a year and it also smelled like rotten food I felt disgusted. We got in line I was 2nd because I was too nervous to go first “First one up” said Tyson* the first one up was Taraia VROOM VROOM roared the engine I think Taraia is trying to show off.

The time camed…….. It was my turn I could almost taste draught “Next up” said Tyson in a tauntingly way as if he knew I was nervous. As I walked to the Go-Kart I shakingly put on my helmet “Don’t forget to put on your seatbelt” said Tyson.

RRRAANGOOOO as I sped with the Go-Kart as tears came down my cheeks as I kept my foot on the accelerator “ARRGGGHHHH” I kept bouncing up and down because of the unstable field. When I got to the corner I quickly turn the wheel as fast as I could to try to the a drift SCREEEECH as I turned but didn’t quite do a drift instead I did a donut. It was my second lap and I was going as fast as I could to try to beat Taraia’s time I quickly went around the field normally instead of trying to drift.I got to the finish line I got the timer of exactly 1 minute.

“Here’s your score guy’s” said Tyson “Okay you’re bonus points to try to finish exactly on the finish line and not go over” said Tyson Kosini was the first one to go have a try and made it and scored my team 30 points. Germaine was next but unfortunately didn’t make it he just stopped before the finish line. Then it was me I did my 3 laps and around the corner I stopped early so I can just sit in the middle of the finishing line as my kart was nearly at the finish line until I had this stupid idea to slightly tap it, but it was the worst Idea I tapped it then went over the finish line it was game over for me unfortunately.

Conclusion:

Well that is it, that was my nerve wrecking activity it was fun at Yr 8 camp and I loved the food my favorite food was the Shepard's Pie, Macaroni and the best of all the lava cake it melted in my mouth. Although there were foods that I didn’t like I hated the apple crumble and I couldn’t eat the porridge their was so much milk in it and it killed the taste. My favorite activity has to be the Go-Kart because I pushed myself to do it and it gave me a big laugh at the end my least favorite activity has to be the Railway Jiggers it was boring and went slow I recommend the owners of Kauaeranga Christian Camp should atleast make a few adjustments to fix the rail’s because it was a bit rusty and sometimes the cart would fall off. I really think I pushed myself and gained a lot of confidence. Unfortunately we missed 2 activities we missed flying fox and paintball I was sad to see because flying fox looked really fun watching other groups on it although i was 50/50 with paintball I didn’t want to play cause of getting hit, but wanted to play as well because of the number of game modes their were, but still it was fun. The camp came out with a bang I really enjoyed it

Summarizing - The problem with plastic

Summarizing - The problem with plastic

The problem with plastic. An Australian marine ecologist showed shocking photos of the plastic waste at Henderson island. (Named one of the most remote places in the world) Sir David Attenborough’s TV show “Blue Planet II” are looking at our water creatures mistaking plastic for food. Lucy Quinn of the British Antarctic survey says she has saw a wandering albatross chick just on South Georgia wich mistaken a plastic bag for food. The chick was still alive. Although there was another chick there was a plastic toothpick in the stomach, which caused the death of an albatross chick.

I'm a christian I love going to church and hearing Father talking about the bible. I will always be a queens-land supporter. My favourite part of this mihi though is my family I love them and one day I'll have my own.
